Tropical flower used in Chinese medicine, the pachulí arrived in Europe in the mid-19th century in a somewhat fortuitous way, as its leaves were used to wrap cashmere during transport, impregnating it with its aroma. Widely used in the 1970s, its woody and slightly earthy essence is found in many contemporary fragrances for women and men. 
It should be noted that only the essence of pachulí has this characteristic sweet smell, as the fresh plant is completely odorless.
